Summary
The Minimalistic Android app works without an account, advertising, analytics, or app-usage reporting. Launcher settings, notes, favorites, and Accessibility-derived foreground app information stay on the device.
Weather is the one optional network feature. It contacts Open-Meteo only when you enter a city and request current conditions.
The public website is separate from the app. Google Analytics 4 is available for basic website measurement, but its script is not downloaded until you select Allow analytics.
Information stored on your device
The app stores the information it needs to run your launcher:
- Favorite, hidden, and distracting app choices
- Locally renamed app labels and focus profiles
- Notes, to-do items, daily intention, timers, and meditation state
- Theme, clock, wallpaper, font, gesture, and home-layout settings
- Custom-home blocks, styles, and image references
- The latest successful weather result and the city you entered
This information is not sent to Minimalistic or stored in a Minimalistic account because no such account is required.
Optional Accessibility Service
Minimalistic is a launcher, not an accessibility tool. Optional device-wide screen-time controls use Android Accessibility only after you read the in-app disclosure and enable the service in Android Settings.
The service receives the identity of the app currently in the foreground. It uses that package name on the device to return you Home during a block or meditation session you created and to time uninterrupted use for local reminders.
What it does not access
The service cannot retrieve window content. It does not read screen text, capture typing or passwords, take screenshots, inspect messages or contacts, record audio, or collect location. Accessibility-derived information is not sold, shared, used for advertising, or sent off the device.
You can disable the service at any time in Android Settings. Declining or revoking access does not stop the launcher, home screens, app search, notes, or basic mindful delay from working.
Weather requests
Weather is off until you enter a city and tap Refresh. The city is sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding and forecast services to retrieve current conditions. Minimalistic does not request device location, create an account, or include your app activity in that request.
The latest successful result is cached so it can remain visible offline. Open-Meteo processes requests under its own privacy terms.
Local backup and restore
Backup is user controlled. Android's system file picker lets you choose where a local JSON backup is written. Restore begins only when you choose a backup from inside the app.
The backup can include launcher preferences, favorites, hidden and distracting app lists, local labels, profiles, notes, to-do items, and custom-home settings. Image references may be unavailable if Android can no longer open the original file.
Optional website analytics
This website offers a clear choice before loading Google Analytics 4. If you select No thanks, the browser does not download the Google tag and no Analytics request is sent. Declining does not restrict any page or app feature.
If you select Allow analytics, Google Analytics receives the page address and title, referring page, general browser and device information, an approximate region derived from the network address, and events when a Google Play link is selected. It does not receive launcher settings, installed-app information, notes, focus activity, or Accessibility-derived information.
Google Signals, advertising storage, ad-user data, and ad personalization are disabled in this website's tag configuration. Your choice is stored in this browser as a first-party setting. Use Privacy choices in the footer to review or change it. Revoking consent removes this site's Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page without the Google tag.

Data deletion and retention
You can delete notes and settings inside the app. Clearing Minimalistic's storage or uninstalling the app removes its local database and preferences. A backup file you exported remains wherever you chose to save it until you delete it.
Children and sensitive data
Minimalistic is a general-use launcher. It is not directed at children and does not ask for names, email addresses, contacts, payment details, precise location, or advertising identifiers.
Policy changes
If the app or website data handling changes, this page and, where relevant, the in-app privacy text will be updated before the changed behavior is released.
